The Honda CR-V is one of the most popular compact SUVs in the market, offering a spacious cabin, a smooth ride, a fuel-efficient hybrid option, and various features and technologies. For 2024, Honda has added a new Sport-L trim level to the CR-V lineup, which bridges the gap between the Sport Hybrid and the Sport Touring Hybrid trims. The Sport-L trim is only available with the hybrid powertrain, which combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to produce 204 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. The Sport-L trim also comes with standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive and delivers an impressive EPA-estimated 40 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
What’s New for the Sport-L Trim?
The Sport-L trim is designed to offer a balance of luxury and sportiness for 2024 Honda CR-V hybrid buyers. It comes with leather seats, a four-way power passenger seat, front and rear parking sensors, a wireless charging pad, satellite radio, driver’s-seat memory, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The Sport-L trim also features a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is 2.0 inches larger than the Sport trim’s screen, and an eight-speaker audio system, which is better than the Sport trim’s six-speaker setup but not as good as the Sport Touring trim’s Bose-branded 12-speaker system. The Sport-L trim also has stylish black exterior accents, black 18-inch wheels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, which are shared with the Sport trim.
How Does the Sport-L Trim Compare to Other CR-V Trims?
The Sport-L trim is the third-highest trim level in the 2024 Honda CR-V hybrid lineup, after the Sport Touring and the Sport trims. The Sport Touring trim is the most expensive and luxurious option, with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free power tailgate, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and a wireless phone charger. The Sport trim is the most affordable and basic option, with features like LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, and a rearview camera. The Sport-L trim offers a middle ground between the two, with some of the premium features of the Sport Touring trim and some of the sporty features of the Sport trim.
