Porsche marks 50 years of existence by launching a special edition of 911. This is called 911 50th Anniversary Edition and will be produced in only 1,963 copies. In 1963 Porsche unveiled the first generation of the 911, originally called type 901.
Special model 911 50th Anniversary Special Edition pays tribute to the original model and will be presented to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
This limited production model is driven by a six-cylinder boxer engine whose power is transmitted to the rear axle only. Porsche 911 50th Anniversary uses a wider bodywork which is usually reserved for Carrera 4 models. Six-cylinder boxer engine develops 400 hp. The 911 50th Anniversary Edition has a sports exhaust system for enhanced emotional character.
