The Toyota Tacoma is one of the most popular and versatile pickup trucks in the US, with a loyal fan base and a reputation for reliability and off-road capability. But did you know that the Toyota Tacoma is also a star in Hollywood? The all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma will make its big screen debut in the upcoming DC superhero movie "Blue Beetle," alongside the classic Taco Truck that inspired its name.
What is "Blue Beetle"?
"Blue Beetle" is a new DC and Warner Bros movie introducing the first Latino superhero to lead a DC film. The movie will follow Jaime Reyes, a teenager from El Paso, Texas, who discovers a mysterious scarab that gives him a powerful alien suit of armor. Jaime becomes the Blue Beetle, a superhero who fights crime and evil with his friends and family.
The movie is directed by Angel Manuel Soto, who said he was drawn to the project because of the opportunity to tell a Latino story with a superhero twist. "This is an opportunity to tell a story that is not only fun but also culturally relevant and meaningful for today's audiences," Soto said.
The movie will star Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, Anthony Ramos as Paco Testas, Jaime's best friend, and Isabela Merced as Brenda Del Vecchio, Jaime's love interest. The movie will also feature other DC characters, such as Booster Gold, Ted Kord, and Dan Garrett, who were previous incarnations of the Blue Beetle.
