Porsche has unveiled a one-off version of the new Panamera at the Shanghai Auto Show. The car called the Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch, is a showcase of the Sonderwunsch program, which allows customers to create their own personalized and highly exclusive dream cars.
The Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch is based on the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid, which combines a twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor to produce a whopping 670 horsepower. The car can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 196 mph.
But what makes the Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch truly special is its exterior design, which was crafted by experts from the Style Porsche and Exclusive Manufaktur units. The car features a two-tone paint finish in a unique color called Leblon Violet Metallic, which has a hint of chestnut. The color fades into a solid black in the lower third of the car, creating a striking contrast.
The car also has black accents on the door sills, front and rear spoiler lips, and rear diffuser. The headlights, taillights, and windows are tinted, and the tailpipes are in Bronzite. The car's clear coat contains flakes vaporized with real gold, giving it a premium look with a depth effect.
The car is further enhanced by pinstripes in another new color, Avium Metallic, which also features an integrated Sonderwunsch logo. The 21-inch center-locking rims and the side window frames are also finished in Avium Metallic. The logos on the rear are meticulously finished by hand.
The interior of the car has been deliberately left unfinished until next year when it will be completed according to the customer’s wishes. The car is meant to inspire people to make their own very personal dream of a highly individual Panamera a reality.
What is the Sonderwunsch program?
The Sonderwunsch program is a personalization service offered by Porsche to its customers who want to go beyond the standard options and create their own unique and customized cars. The word Sonderwunsch means special wishes in German, and that is exactly what the program aims to fulfill.
The Sonderwunsch program includes consultation, planning, and expert execution of customer-specific color and material requests, as well as the building of one-offs. The program is handled by the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur or Porsche Classic departments, depending on whether the car is new or classic.
The program offers three levels of personalization: Factory Commissioning, Factory Re-Commissioning, and Factory One-Off. Factory Commissioning is done prior to delivery and involves minor modifications such as adding unique colors and trim. Factory Re-Commissioning is done post-delivery and involves more extensive changes, such as installing new equipment and features. Factory One-Off is also done post-delivery and involves the creation of a completely new car from scratch.
The Sonderwunsch program is not for everyone, as it requires a high level of commitment and investment from the customer. The program is also highly exclusive and limited in availability, as only a few cars can be made each year. The program is meant for customers who have a clear vision of their dream car and want to make it a reality with the help of Porsche.
