The Dacia Duster is one of the most popular and successful models in the European market, offering a spacious, versatile, and reliable SUV at a very affordable price. Since its launch in 2010, the Duster has sold more than 2 million units worldwide, becoming the best-selling model of the Romanian brand. Now, Dacia is ready to present the third generation of the Duster, which promises to be even more attractive, modern, and efficient than its predecessors.
What’s new in the 2024 Dacia Duster?
The 2024 Dacia Duster has been completely redesigned, both inside and out, to offer a more dynamic and refined look and a more comfortable and functional interior. The exterior design features a more upright and expressive front end, with a new grille, LED headlights, and air curtains. The side profile is more coupe-like, with muscular wheel arches, hidden door handles, and roof rails. The rear end has a larger tailgate, LED taillights, and a sporty spoiler. The new Duster also has a higher ground clearance and a wider track, enhancing its off-road capabilities.
The interior of the new Dacia Duster has also been improved, with a more ergonomic and user-friendly dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a multifunction steering wheel. The cabin also offers more space, storage, and better materials and finishes. The new Duster also features more safety and convenience equipment, such as a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic climate control.
What are the engine options for the new Dacia Duster?
The new Dacia Duster will offer various engine options, depending on the market and the trim level. The base engine will be a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with 90 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. This engine will also be available with a bi-fuel system, which allows it to run on either petrol or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), reducing emissions and fuel costs.
The next engine option will be a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with either 130 or 150 horsepower and 240 or 260 Nm of torque, respectively. This engine will be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine will also feature a mild hybrid system, which uses a 12-volt belt-driven starter-generator to provide extra power and efficiency, resulting in the first Dacia Duster Hybrid.
The diesel option will be a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, with either 95 or 115 horsepower and 260 or 280 Nm of torque, respectively. This engine will be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine will also be available with a four-wheel drive system, which a rotary dial on the dashboard can select.
