The Audi RS 6 Avant is already one of the most powerful and versatile wagons on the market, but the German automaker has decided to push it to the limit with a new limited-edition model: the RS 6 Avant GT.
The 2025 Audi RS 6 Avant GT is an homage to the 90 IMSA GTO, a race car that dominated the American touring car championship in 1989. The 90 IMSA GTO was based on the Audi 200 sedan but featured a radical body kit, a massive rear wing, and a 2.2-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine that produced over 700 horsepower.
The 2025 Audi RS 6 Avant GT is not as extreme as the 90 IMSA GTO, but it still packs a punch. A 4.0-liter powers it twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 641 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 41 horsepower and 37 pound-feet over the standard RS 6 Avant. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a quattro all-wheel-drive system that can send up to 85 percent of the torque to the rear wheels.
The RS 6 Avant GT can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph with the optional Dynamic Package Plus. It also features a sports exhaust system, a sports suspension with adaptive air springs and dampers, a rear-axle steering system, and a carbon-ceramic brake system with 17.3-inch front discs and 14.6-inch rear discs.
A Stunning Design with Racing Heritage
The RS 6 Avant GT stands out from the crowd with its distinctive design that pays tribute to the 90 IMSA GTO. The exterior is painted in Nogaro Blue, the same color as the race car, and features a number of carbon-fiber elements, such as:
- The front splitter
- The side skirts
- The rear diffuser
- The roof rails
- The mirror caps
- The rear spoiler
The RS 6 Avant GT also sports a black grille with a red quattro logo, a black Audi rings logo on the hood, and a large GT badge on the tailgate. The 22-inch alloy wheels are finished in silver and have a five-spoke design that resembles the ones on the 90 IMSA GTO. The wheels are wrapped in 285/30 ZR22 tires that provide excellent grip and handling.
The interior of the RS 6 Avant GT is equally impressive, with a combination of black leather and Alcantara upholstery contrasted by red stitching and piping. The seats are sporty and comfortable, with RS logos and GT logos embroidered on the headrests. The steering wheel is flat-bottomed and wrapped in Alcantara, with a red 12 o’clock marker and a GT logo. The dashboard and the center console are adorned with carbon-fiber trim, and the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen display a GT-specific graphic.
The RS 6 Avant GT also comes with a host of features and amenities, such as:
- A Bang & Olufsen sound system with 19 speakers and 1,820 watts of power
- A head-up display that projects key information on the windshield
- A panoramic sunroof that lets in natural light and fresh air
- A wireless charging pad that keeps your smartphone battery full
- A four-zone automatic climate control that ensures optimal comfort for all passengers
- A Matrix LED headlight system that adapts to road conditions and traffic
